Anger for Missoni
I know this is old news (it was made for the Autumn/Winter 2010 ad campaign) but I've only just discovered it today. Kenneth Anger for Missoni.
Lady in Red
I stumbled upon this picture online (no idea who it is or who it's by)
but the hair & make-up and styling remind me of one of my all-time favourite style heroines, La Marchesa Casati:
although the colours remind me more of the Otto Dix (another favourite) painting of Anita Berber (ditto):
If anyone has any information about the origins of the top photograph, who it's by and whether it's part of a series - I'd love to see more - then please let me know! x Oh and Merry Yule/Happy New Year!
Lucifer Rising
The other afternoon when I was walking through the Woodlands area of Glasgow, a boy cycled past me wearing this jacket:
I thought it was especially weird as I'd just been watching Kenneth Anger films earlier. There's a French website that sell replica jackets for around $180, but you'd have to be a total imbecile to pay that much for something you could easily make.
Zobop
This is relatively old news, but I just discovered it today:
Necklace by Matthew Williamson, inspired by the work of Glasgow artist Jim Lambie. Created as part of Williamson's collection for Atelier Swarovski and featured in his SS10 runway show.
Sebastian Horsley
The artist, writer and self-proclaimed dandy of the underworld was found dead today in his Soho flat. The 47-yr old was reported to have died of a heroin overdose. This comes only days after a play adapted from his autobiography opened at the Soho Theatre. In an interview with The Independent in 2006, Horsley joked that his suicide note would read:
"I've decided to stop living on account of the cost."
Among many things, Sebastian was known for was his outrageous yet sharp dress sense, so here are a few images to celebrate that...
