Ciao, Bella

A tribute to the hot women of Dario Argento's Tenebre (and there were plenty).
 *SPOILER ALERT*

Live the dream...

...if you can afford it.

I was just googling the possibility of owning my own Cinderella-style glass slippers and, lo and behold, Mr Margiela has gone and made it possible. IF I was willing to part with $2, 580 (or $1, 277 for a single shoe).

 A podophiliac's wipe-clean dream.

Le Maison went and made these limited edition treats two years ago so chances are they're all snapped up by now, by some insane rich bitches with a fairytale fetish. Damn. Who's betting Daphne Guinness has a pair stashed away somewhere?

Cloak + Dagger

My New Years resolutions to myself were:
To stop smoking.
To seriously cut down on clothes shopping.
To stop buying shit celebrity gossip magazines.
I am ashamed to report, only one (and a bit) month in I have well and truly thrown the first two out of the window. My smoking ban lasted less than a week, and although I managed to resist sales shopping frenzy I caved in last week and had a little splurge. BUT IT ENDS NOW!
Here's a photo of my nice new cloak that I picked up on Saturday.

Headscarf from a vintage shop in Bristol. Cloak from Vintage Guru, Glasgow. Leggings from H&M. Shoes, Primarni originals.

Pradarama

Video campaign for Prada's SS11 collection

So the dancing and music is incredibly annoying (I think) but the sunglasses, stripper shoes, stripes, and furry snake stoles are sssssssssssublime.

Xmas List

I went shopping (again) today and came home with an empty wallet but a mind full of ideas for future purchases (or things I can hint at to generous folk)...
Topshop rings:

Words cannot express how excited I am at the prospect of owning some armour rings. No longer will I walk past that poster of Meatloaf and feel a twinge of jealousy at his golden claw.

Urban Outfitters loafers:

Was so tempted to buy these today, were it not for the ankle deep snow. I probably wouldn't be able to show them off til April.

Bored, so...

Here's what I'm planning to purchase from New Look's A/W selection, if I can find them in the maze of the Buchanan St store. Winter = fur, leather and velvet. Bring it on.

Put on your high-heel sneakers...

I found these amazing shoes on Evening Lady.co.uk

They are part of the Bordello range by Pleaser, and these particular shoes are from the Teeze collection.

I also love their Cabaret vintage-inspired dancing shoes:

And I've got a bit of a soft spot for these Siren peep-toes with the burlesque tasseling on the heels.

Most of the shoes in the Bordello range are priced between £35 and £50, so they are completely affordable. They come in half sizes too, unlike most shoes on the high street. Although I'm rarely lucky enough to be taken anywhere befitting of such footwear, I'm sorely tempted to splash out on a few pairs. I'm known for always wearing high heels, but the truth is I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to stilettos. I hate thin heels because they kill me, so it's nice to see shoes that look glamourous yet with heels chunky enough to withstand hours of jitterbug and jive.
