Outfit Post

Something's been going wrong with blogspot lately - it will let me repost images from a URL, but not stuff I've uploaded from my own laptop. I dunno why this is, I've been using JPGs as normal. So I've had to hold fire with the updating and create a good old photobucket account so I can post stuff from there. LAME. I was going to do this outfit post on Thursday but you're getting it now instead. I thought it was quite an average outfit but I got quite a few compliments on it that day so whatdya know...

Jumper from a £3 shop in Manchester's Northern Quarter. Skirt from H&M. Boots inherited from mama Nova. Bag from Buzzcocks gig in Glasgow. I know my room needs a serious tidy - this was the least messy part so I used it as a background. The rest looks as though a kids birthday party has exploded all over it.

Kinky Boots

Today my mum treated me to this fab 'n' kinky pair of black patent leather boots from Dune...

I've been after a pair like these for ages (and a black patent leather belted mac to match for the ultimate in streetwalker chic), the heel is just the right height for everyday wear, and seeing as the leather is waterproof I can happily kid myself that they are 'sensible' footwear for the winter weather.

Because the Lady Loves... Pam Hogg

Just a few pix to show off the wild and wonderful personal style of Ms Hogg.....

Matchy-matchy with Dame Viv.

In black at Alexander McQueen's Memorial.

At the NME Awards with Bobby Gillespie.

In a gorgeous powder blue coat at the Whitechapel Gallery.

In one of the most fabulous fur coats... one of her own, I think (?)

I'm sure I've posted this picture before, but it's a favourite.

Pretty Pretty

Earlier this month, I styled a Barbarella-inspired photoshoot for the Glasgow Guardian. The model was the brilliant Christin Haussman and the photographer was Rosalind Blake. The location was the retro-futuristic Kibble Palace at Glasgow's Botanic Gardens. Here are a couple of my behind-the-scenes shots, watch out for the final edits in the next issue of the Glasgow Guardian (out now).

Bored, so...

Here's what I'm planning to purchase from New Look's A/W selection, if I can find them in the maze of the Buchanan St store. Winter = fur, leather and velvet. Bring it on.

Mulberry A/W 2010

I'm always a sucker for big hair, especially hair that manages to defy gravity while still seeming soft and 'undone' (because I've found this is often the most difficult look to achieve). As well as the hair, another thing Mulberry have got right is the soft leather jackets with cute doll-like collars. The top photo pretty much sums up my ideal day-to-evening outfit. I need to find a pair of knee-high boots like those, and a jacket like the one in the third photo. Add some backcombing and a good hairspray and I'll be sorted for A/W. Maybe...
